The goal of the TRIG Technology Readiness Infrastructure Grant is to develop or improve our district's technology infrastructure, including, but not limited to, hardware and software, in preparation for the planned implementation 2014-2015 of online growth assessments. Detroit Public Schools have adopted the projects purpose which is to build the capacity of Detroit Public School educators an effective plan and implement assessments "Any time, Any Place, Any Way, Any Pace" leaning through increasing technology proficiency. http://22itrig.org
Detroit Public Schools Vision and Mission is to be a competitive leaders in academic achievement through the use of continuous improvement strategies, making our schools the first choice for Detroit residents and other eligible students. The mission of DPS is to develop a customer and data-driven, student-centered learning environment in which students are motivated to become productive citizens and lifelong learners, equipped with skills to meet the needs of their next customer, higher education, or the world of work.
Our goal as TRIG Regional Coordinators is to help develop the vision and mission of DPS with best practices in instructional technology and assessment through online learning. We will work with administrators and building coaches to train teachers in 21st Century technology skills that will increase the student's ability to do will on the online assessments in 2014-2015 school year. Our goal is to plan and deliver training to coaches, provide ongoing support to coaches, collect data and keep current with development within the Smarter Balanced Assessment/Next Generation Online Assessment.
